Swedish Marine Technology Forum is a non-profit organization that gathers the maritime industry in Sweden.The organization is working toward development of new and less environmentally damaging products, efficient production and cooperation between firms, universities and public representatives. Swedish Marine Technology Forum is also working to increase recruitment and enhance regeneration in the maritime industry.

The forum brings together the entire maritime industry in Sweden and its future challenges. The forum is addressed to the companies that is suppliers for the shipping, offshore and the leisure boat industry. Our members are engineering solutions, manufacturing, products and services in these areas.

Stimulate the recruitment to the maritime industry

A survival issue for the industry is to be able to recruit competent and motivated employees in the future. Swedish Marine Technology Forum work to market the maritime industry to future employees, in cooperation with universities on labour market days, online and at other public events. We are also engaged in the work to improve and adapt professional training at various levels.

Support the technical development through different projects

To develop the Swedish maritime technology we have an arena for projects. We are working actively towards developing maritime environmental innovations and new products in the energy and environmental technologies, but also with cooperation on new business development ideas and training concepts. Participating companies and organizations can identify and suggest projects.

Networking between maritime companies

Cooperation is a valuable complement for the competence within the company. One of the Swedish Marine Technology Forum’s main tasks is to build networks between business, academy and policy makers in order to facilitate the daily work and contribute to a competitive industry and a good and sustainable future for ourselves and the generations to come.

Present the maritime industry and influence the decisionmakers

To increase awareness of the maritime industry Swedish Marine Technology Forum arrange “Knowledge days” for decisionmakers. We participate in working groups for competence development and questions regarding strategic infrastructure. We influence by participating in public debates and events like Almedalsveckan, public press and media.

Increased market share for the cooperating companies

The goal for the forum is to increase the market shares and create opportunities for the cooperating companies. We arrange contact fairs, educational visits and information seminars. Through international cooperation we work to find companies new markets, customers and partners.
